Our Mission The mission of We Are Family Community Development Corporation is to provide leadership, training, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities to area residents and businesses. The We Are Family CDC established goals are to Serve as a focal point for development in the Liberty Road/Randallstown Community; · Offer educational, recreational, and leisure programs designed to increase the well-being of children and young people; · Create businesses which promote the wealth and economic development of the community; Develop and effectively manage affordable adult day services/communities; · Increase the number of home owners through education, training and financial assistance. The We Are Family Community Development Corporation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization of the Union Bethel A.M.E. Church located in Randallstown, Maryland, and provides Randallstown area residents a comprehensive array of services and programs to help build a better community.   We Are Family was founded in November 2003 to increase the Church’s ability to expansively serve the community, and focuses its goal to empower communities in Northwest Baltimore County by strengthening the social, intellectual, and economic characteristics of the residential environments through on-going education, training, and development which promotes self sufficiency. We Are Family has also secured a number of grants that assist in the provision of a wide array of services that target children and young adults including: Friday Basketball Program a recreational program funded by Baltimore County Police that targets boys 12-18 years of age, provides mentors, values training, and athletic program. Girl's Circle-provides social and assertiveness skills, cultural activities, and career development to adolescent girls from the community. Boys to Men Club - a partnership with local middle schools targeting male students in need of academic improvement, appropriate social skills, and values clarification.  First Time Home Buyers and Foreclosure Programs specifically designed to assist low and moderate income individuals with down payment and closing cost. This program is supported through funds provided by the Baltimore County Office of Community Conservation. Homeless Prevention Program a well-established full functioning community program offered. The program is endowed by the Maryland Food Bank and other grants to provide food, rent and utilities financial assistance, and guidance on how to obtain local and state government assistance.  Future plans for the Corporation include the opening an Employment and Career Center to assist with job search skills, job placement, entrepreneurial skills development, and business establishment.  Education Services Since its inception, We Are Family has opened a wide breadth of needed community education programs, including: Child Learning Center; K-12 Christian Academy; Summer Camp; Before- and After-school program, and Project RICHES, a partnership with local Baltimore County elementary schools to provide after school reading and cultural activity program and homework assistance to students in grades 3-5.   l Union Bethel Christian Academy and Child Learning Center are full-time accredited day schools that will serve students K-12.  The programs, under the leadership of State certified directors and teachers, currently provide State of Maryland approved curricula for First through Third-graders.  l Project RICHES, is an after-school reading enrichment program designed to assist students with homework assignments and to also provide interesting and creative cultural activities for 3rd through 5th grade students.  l Children’s Summer Camp is a full-time summer day program for students, offering a wide array of educational, physical, art and music programs.
