The Homeless Prevention Program provides rental assistance, utility assistance and emergency food pantry supportive services directly related to the prevention of homelessness and hunger to eligible individuals and families who are in danger of eviction, foreclosure or homelessness or are currently homeless.  The program is designed to stabilize individuals and families in their existing homes, shorten the amount of time that individuals and families stay in shelters and assist individuals and families by providing food for needy low-income households.

The Good Samaritan Emergency Assistance Program provides services to individuals and families in crisis support. The primary purpose is to provide an emergency response to hunger. The program provides food at no cost to help supplement the diets of needy low-income households. 

The program receives grants from the Maryland Food Bank, the United States Department of Agriculture, FEMA, the United Way, the Baltimore County Office of Community Conservation, and Union Bethel A.M.E. Church.

Who can receive services?

Persons who may be eligible include households that are in immediate danger of eviction, foreclosure or homelessness or are currently homeless. The household must document a temporary economic crisis beyond its control and must be able to demonstrate an ability to meet the prospective rental/utility obligations after the assistance has been granted based on current or anticipated income.

What services are provided?
--Assistance with payment of rent/mortgage in arrears to prevent eviction
--Assistance with payment of utility bills and arrearage to prevent utility cut-off
--Food at no cost to help supplement the diets of needy low-income households
